Raleigh, N.C.
Aug 10, 2026

The N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission (NCWRC) is holding a free hands-on engaging introduction to the Outdoor Skills Academy for Women event on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at the Alamance County Wildlife Club in Graham.

“By sampling a range of outdoor skills at this event, participants can begin building confidence, fostering connections and deepening their commitment to conservation,” said Western Engagement & Education Supervisor Casey Williams. “When women are able to explore these activities hands-on, they don’t just gain knowledge—they uncover new passions and become empowered stewards of North Carolina’s wild spaces."

This event runs from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Pre-registration is required and participants must be at least 16 years old. No prior experience is required for any of the four sessions, which include:

  • Introduction to Shotgun
  • Fly Fishing Basics
