North Carolina Celebrates National Fishing and Boating Week

Raleigh, N.C.
May 29, 2025

and its partners are participating in National Fishing and Boating Week, held the first week of June each year, with events being held throughout North Carolina.

The Fintastic Fishing Festival will be held Saturday June 7 at the Pechmann Fishing Education Center in Fayetteville. Families with children 15 years of age and younger are invited to enjoy a full day of fishing fun, hands-on learning, and outdoor adventure. With over 12 interactive exhibits and demonstrations, this event is the perfect way to learn about fishing and the vital role anglers play in conserving North Carolina’s fisheries. All kids 15 and under will be entered to win a Unified Sportsman License, generously provided by the North Carolina Wildlife Federation.

Festival highlights include live fishing demonstrations, casting contests, kayaking, fly-fishing & fly-tying, a boating simulator, fishing knot tutorials, catch-and-release fishing for all ages and much more. Please bring your own medium-action fishing gear (optional), natural bait, and if you don’t have gear the Pechmann Center will provide fishing rod and reel combos on loan, and worms will be available for bait. Food trucks will also be on-site during this family-friendly event.
